Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub presented its mission and activities in the two-day conference Innovation in Northern Greece and the bodies that support it 4.0, that took place on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 May at OK!Thess in Thessaloniki. The conference mapped out innovation in Northern Greece through 22 panels, 150 speakers and 10 workshops, along with the participation of 55 stakeholders and organisations in the workshops and the discussions.
Periklis Terlixidis, Operating Officer of ahedd and Smart Attica EDIH Manager, participated in the discussion about Digital Innovation Hubs & Competence Centres, along with representatives of the fellow greek EDIHs and greek Competence Centres. The discussion was held on Friday 5 May at the OK!Thess in Thessaloniki and was moderated by Katerina Pramatari, Metavallon.
The conference addressed some key questions about innovation in Northern Greece, such as: What does innovation in Northern Greece mean today? Who can benefit? Which sectors of the economy are affected? Which organizations support the effort of teams and companies to innovate? What financial tools are there? What other forms of support are provided? What opportunities and challenges did the COVID pandemic create in Northern Greece?.
The event was held as part of an initiative of Smart Attica ΕDIH and was co-organised by NBG Business Seeds of the National Bank of Greece, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, CERTH, OK!Thess, the Thessaloniki Innovation Zone, Tecs Capital, the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Uni.fund, Μetavallon, Bayer Hellas, the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce and the Hellenic Development Bank of Investments, supported by the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub.
