ahedd DIH continues to offer innovative, tailor-made Artificial Intelligence (AI) workshops to organisations and businesses, with a focus on enhancing their digital and entrepreneurial competencies as part of their digital transformation journey.
In January 2024, ahedd invited the staff of the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications (IIT) at NCSR Demokritos to participate in a customised AI workshop titled “Introduction to AI-powered innovation”.
This introductory workshop on Artificial Intelligence was attended by 55 participants from IIT, mainly cmoprising teams and groups that are not familiar with AI.
ahedd experts Giorgos Giannakopoulos and Denia Kanellopoulou engaged the participants in a comprehensive workshop exploring AI and its applications and fostering discussions on the latest technological developments.
More specifically, the attendees learnt what Artificial Intelligence is -and what it is not- and gained an understanding of related concepts and terms. Through informative use cases, they comprehended how the AI applications can address real-world problems, considering cultural and ethical considerations. The discussion that followed, encouraged the expression of ideas about deploying AI in their work at the Institute, tailored to suit their unique needs.
About the organisation
The Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications (IIT) is rooted in two core research areas: Artificial Intelligence and Telecommunication Networks. Since its inception, IIT focuses on basic and applied research on the multiple manifestations of Artificial Intelligence and interacts with other NCSR-D Institutes from different disciplines allowing the application of novel AI-based data driven methods to multiple application fields. Additionally, IIT leads in telecommunication networks, particularly in 5G technologies and IoT applications. The symbiotic presence of these two research pillars are defining elements of the Institute’s mission: to act as a connecting link between different scientific domains and disciplines by supporting data-driven and AI-informed science and be a constant ambassador of science to the Greek society and economy.
Application Design & Development Team
The workshop was very useful as it gave us a good overview of what AI is, it clarified related concepts/terms and helped me get a better sense of what AI can and cannot do. I think it is invaluable for people working in interdisciplinary projects that use AI, that come from a non-technical background.>
