The next talk in the series of monthly business talks titled AI Industry Connect Talks was held on Wednesday 16 March 2022. This month, we hosted Omilia with invited speaker Dr Themos Stafylakis, Head of Machine Learning and Voice Biometrics, Omilia – Conversational Intelligence.
Talk title: Conversational AI for customer care in the deep learning era
Description: Conversational AI is witnessing a rapid expansion in the domain of customer care. In such a competitive market, Omilia is recognised as one of the worldwide leaders by the most prestigious international Analyst firms. In this talk, we will present Omilia’s platform, and we will dive into some of the key-components that make use of the latest advances in machine learning, such as Spoken Language Understanding, Voice Biometrics, and Text-to-Speech.
Short Bio: Dr Themos Stafylakis is the Head of Machine Learning and Voice Biometrics at Omilia. He holds a Diploma and a PhD from National Technical University of Athens, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Greece, and a MSc from Imperial College London, U.K.. As a researcher, he has been affiliated with ILSP/Athena R.C., Greece (PhD Candidate), Computer Research Institute of Montreal, Canada (PostDoc), École de technologie supérieure, Canada (PostDoc), and University of Nottingham, U.K. (Marie-Curie Research Fellow). His research interests are Speech and Language Technologies, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning.
