ahedd Digital Innovation Hub organised an introductory training session on Artificial Intelligence (AI), tailored for professionals in the building construction sector, which was held online on Tuesday 3 October 2023, at 11:00 CEST.
The session aimed to introduce the main concepts and applications of AI within the construction industry, while also addressing how AI can drive transformative changes, promote growth, and foster innovation within the field.
The objectives of this training session were as follows:
- Introduction to AI: Participants would gain a comprehensive understanding of AI, discerning what is AI and what is not. Relevant terminology was clarified, ensuring a clear grasp of key concepts.
- Benefits for SMEs: The session would explain how AI can boost SMEs, highlighting its potential to drive success through innovation.
- AI Applications in the Construction Industry: Attendees would explore innovative AI applications that can transform the construction sector.
- DIHs and SMEs: ahedd experts would offer guidance to SMEs seeking AI solutions and support for innovation through Digital Innovation Hubs.
The webinar provided a concise yet comprehensive overview of AI’s potential impact on the construction industry, while creating opportunities for the exchange of questions and insights.
ahedd DIH – SUSTAIN project
ahedd organised this AI training session in the context of the SUSTAIN Euroclusters project, funded by the Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME).
The project aims to boost growth in the building construction market by establishing a wide network of related clusters and SMEs. It will address strategic technological and industrial dependencies within the building construction sector and enhance the EU’s open strategic autonomy by promoting innovative services and providing training for SMEs to adopt these services. The third goal is to focus on the green and digital advancements among companies involved in the building sector by encouraging innovative solutions related to energy efficiency and smartness in buildings.
SUSTAIN consists of 5 members from 3 European countries: the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), project coordinator, the IsZEB Cluster and ahedd Digital Innovation Hub, NCSR Demokritos from Greece, the Clúster de l’Energia Eficient de Catalunya from Spain and the Green Tech Cluster Latvia.
