ahedd DIH is awarded the prestigious Platinum recognition from the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), during the European Big Data Value Forum 2023, a pivotal event in the data technology landscape. This award signifies the highest level of excellence in data innovation and highlights ahedd’s contribution to the dynamic field of data-driven innovation and Artificial Intelligence technologies. We are honored to be one of the 7 i-Spaces in Europe to achieve this remarkable distinction.
Denia Kanellopoulou, AI Innovation Expert at ahedd, attended the ceremony in Valencia to receive the award and during her speech, she emphasised the impact of this recognition, stating: “This label enables trust between our partners and beneficiaries, increases our visibility in the Greek and European landscape, and it places us among the pioneers in data-driven innovation. Being a part of this community offers us the opportunity to develop value-generating synergies and exchange best practices”.
BDVA acknowledges ahedd as a cross-sectorial innovation hub that has made significant contributions to Greece’s digital transformation, enabling technology businesses to develop their products and supporting the acceleration of data-driven innovation across various sectors. Additionally, ahedd orchestrates a 5G- and IoT-enabled smart-city testbed for AI applications at Demokritos campus, providing a secure accelerator-style environment for running experiments with both private and open data, thus fostering technology and application development. These achievements resulted in ahedd’s receipt of the top BDVA Platinum Award, which not only reflects the exceptional quality of ahedd as an innovation space but also underscores our role in shaping the future of data-driven technologies and innovation throughout Europe.
The evaluation process conducted by BDVA places a strong emphasis on the excellence of data-driven experimentation and innovation spaces (BDVA i-Spaces) across crucial domains, including infrastructure/technologies, services, projects and applications, impact to ecosystem, business strategy and sustainability, federation capabilities and ethics. By granting these awards, BDVA recognises the quality of existing data experimentation and innovation hubs in Europe and guarantees that these initiatives meet the necessary requirements to boost data-driven and AI-based innovation at local level, while also promoting collaboration with similar initiatives to foster adoption at European level.
