Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub participated in the conference Innovation in Crete and the institutions that support it 3.0, that was held live on Friday 17 February at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The conference mapped out innovation in Crete through 14 panels, 101 speakers and 9 workshops, along with the participation of 45 stakeholders and organisations in the workshops and the discussions.
Agis Georgiou, Technology Services specialist at ahedd, participated in the discussion about Digital Innovation Hubs, along with representatives of the fellow greek EDIHs: Giannis Giannarakis, GR digiGOV-innoHUB, Dimitrios Plexousakis, smartHEALTH, Maria Michalopoulou, DigiAgriFood Central & North Greece. The discussion was on Friday 17 February at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry and was moderated by Giorgos Karantonis, Metavallon.
The conference addressed some key questions about innovation in Crete, such as: How is innovation implemented in Crete today? Who can benefit? Which sectors of the economy are affected? Which organizations support the effort of teams and companies to innovate? What financial tools are there? What other forms of support are provided? In the aftermath of the pandemic what is the future outlook?
The conference was organised in the context of Smart Attica EDIH by NBG Business Seeds of the National Bank of Greece, the Region of Crete, the PRAXI Network, the Science & Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C), the Bizrupt Lab, the H2B HUB, the smartHEALTH European Digital Innovation Hub, 4locals, the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Archimedes – Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Athens, the American – Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Hellenic Development Bank of Investments, Endeavor Greece, Uni.Fund, Metavallon VC, Bayer Hellas and was supported by Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub.
